Permit for victims of human trafficking

What is human trafficking?
Trafficking is a modern form of slavery that violates human rights and causes irreparable harm to its victims. It primarily affects women and girls, who represent 65% of the identified victims of this crime*.
It can take the form of forced labor, forced begging, or sexual exploitation.
Know the procedure
Foreign victims of this crime who are within Chile may be eligible for this permit through the efforts of the institutions that comprise the Intersectoral Roundtable on Human Trafficking.
During the validity period of the permit, the victim may decide to exercise criminal and civil actions in the respective judicial proceedings, or initiate proceedings to regularize their residence status.
Where and who can apply for this permit?
To submit the application, the member institution of the Intersectoral Roundtable must include the required documentation according to the Intersectorial Protocol of Attention to Victims of Human Trafficking.
This application must be submitted in the Portal de Trámites Digitales by officials of the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones (SERMIG).
In addition to this procedure, the technical secretary of the Intersectoral Roundtable on Human Trafficking must be informed as soon as possible.
